My stepdad just passed away and among his belongings I found two baseballs signed by Bobby Cox with a short note to my son and my stepdad (one note on each ball). He also wrote the number 27 beneath his last name. I have no idea what that number could possibly be or when these balls were signed (my son is now 30 and my stepdad was 70). They are in near mint condition. My mom didn't even know he had them. Any insight into what the number could represent would be appreciated. In the meantime, I am going to be checking to see if the signature is authentic. I will try to post a picture of the ball(s) over the weekend.
