*** VINTAGE EXPLOSION *** Now Trading Aaron, Clemente, Koufax & Mays 1952-1976 Topps in PSA 6, 7 & 8
*** 13 August 2013 *** Now Trading in PSA 6-8: AARON, CLEMENTE, KOUFAX & MAYS
ThePit is making trading of vintage Hall of Famers faster, safer, easier, and cheaper! Over the past few months we have quietly introduced to the Exchange regular Topps cards of some of the biggest names in the hobby (click on each line below for list of cards traded):
Response to our Vintage Initiative has exceeded expectations, and we are steadily building a strong inventory of these choice investment-grade cards in PSA 6 (EX-MT), PSA 7 (NRMT) & PSA 8 (NM-MT). We are still seeking our first examples of many cards, especially the highest-grade early issues of these great players. To get trading started we are offering EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE BUY PRICES, so there has never been a better time to sell your finest collectibles to thePit!
On the sell side, many cards are available NOW at the best prices anywhere! A few examples, with price comparisons to the lowest Buy It Now prices on eBay as of August 13th:
Since we're new to Freedom Cardboard, I'm wondering if veteran readers/posters can help explain why I'm getting no response to my ad offering $75K at market prices or higher for these PSA cards. Are vintage cards just not discussed on Freedom Cardboard? (If so, which other forum might I try?) Or is there something else I can do to find sellers of these cards on FC? Thanks!

Hey,
I've been on thepit for years and wish you the best with this. The trade boards in general have been a bit slow lately and there isn't a ton of vintage moving. I believe that a huge % of the people on the site never visit the trade boards. Maybe speak to a mod (I think CGilmo is probably the best) to find out about getting some exposure on the hobby/discussion section of the chat. Usually no mention of buying is made there, but your buying now is different than the standard "looking for card x". (Another option may be having an article written up/published about thepit on the front page. I believe a bit of a history as well as a write up of the current effort could bring you some vintage as well possibly new customers on the site. Good luck .
Hi Topnotchsy, thanks for your thoughtful comments and useful advice. It's much appreciated, and I'm going to follow-up as you suggested. Best Regards, Mark Humphries, General Manager, thePit.com
