So what happened with Wil Myers today? Did he just badly misjudge that Ortiz bomb today or what? Anybody know??

He said he saw Desmond and broke away thinkging he had it. Took full responsibility post game

Did Jennings ever call him off though? And should he have called him off? Seemed like Myers had it lined up and he's saving face by saying he thought Jennings had it when in reality it looks like he just totally miscalculated the distance, as it cleared his head by a good 10 feet it looked like.

Whatever happened, it's not a World Champion play right there.

No, Myers actually called for it. Not verbally, but he did raise his arm.

It's tough to tell what actually happened. He could have easily made the catch but at the last second stopped going for it and stepped towards the infield. You can't blame the sun because he was wearing sunglasses and it was overcast the first half of the game. Either he thought he heard Jennings call him off or he thought it was over the wall, who knows. No matter what, it helped us win that game. See, who needs to trade Lester for Myers? Keep Lester and have him pitch a gem, and have Myers make a costly mistake....for the other team. Win/win.
