A dream situation for the Giants to me would be let go of Timmy, pick up Vogelsong's option, buyout Zito ($7 million) and sign Javier Lopez. Sign Joe Smith, Jesse Crain and LaTroy Hawkins (potentially). Sign one of Ubaldo, Hughes or Ervin Santana. Sign Jose Abreu, have Belt start to play LF a little in ST for when Abreu is ready to come up (this is less of a priority than shoring up the bullpen and pitching staff).

To Start The Year:
1. Pagan CF
2. Scutaro 2B
3. Sandoval 3B
4. Posey C
5. Pence RF
6. Belt 1B
7. Crawford SS
8. Juan Perez/Francisco Peguero LF
9. Pitcher

1. Bumgarner
2. Cain
3. Ubaldo, Ervin or Hughes
4. Vogelsong
5. Petit

1. Machi/Hembree RP
2. Hawkins RP
3. Crain RP
4. Smith RP
5. Casilla SU
6. Lopez SU
7. Romo CP

I doubt Milwaukee will sign a decent free agent, since they probably don't want to go 2 years in a row without a 1st round pick (especially the 12th).

I agree and the doubt surrounding the Braun-return tells me the Brewers won't spend significantly on any one player. But, would Johnson get a qualifying offer with the injury history? He seems right on that borderline to me.
