When did PSA start using .5's??

Wow, guess I'm behing the times then...

I posted in a thread on the PSA website about a year or so ago asking why they do not use ".5's" and was all but scolded for even mentioning it. I was lectured "they are an industry standard and would stand to loose respect if varying from there grading system to a more specific 'beckett' grading system".

When they realized all the money they could make by having people with 7s and 8s resubmitting their cards for that meaningless .5.

You know it's a pure money grab situation because they added everything except a 9.5, which means it's really a gimic. Because, if you can have a card that's condition is halfway between and 8 and a 9, surely you can have one halfway between a 9 and a 10...

Here are 2 from my 57 set set that have half grades. I do like it.

That Robinson is amazing. the centering makes me weep, it's that good!


Thanks, it is one of the best centered cards I have from the set. I love it because the borders are soo white too.
