The Riverlands.
It was both to be honest, but the offense is what really did them in. The Yankees used to be a team where they lived and died by the home run. Those days are over. With the amount of injuries that they had, there were replacement guys like Alberto Gonzalez trying to go deep, instead of playing small ball. The Yanks have to realize that moving guys over is much better than a ball deflating at the warning track. That is why the Yankees invested in power laden guys like Beltran, McCann, etc. and why they are contemplating Austin Jackson over Brett Gardner which makes zero sense given Jackson's lack of power lately and his disgustingly high K rate

I highly doubt they are going to go after Austin Jackson over Brett Gardner. Where in the world did you see that?

A lineup of Gardner, Jeter, Ellsbury, Beltran, McCann, Tex, Soriano, Infante(hopefully), and Kelly Johnson/Alex Rodriguez gets me pretty damn excited.

Plus with Sabathia, Nova, Kuroda, and then hopefully Pineda in the rotation with Tanaka likely if posted is a pretty damn good team and its hard to say otherwise.
Their biggest problem was 75% their starting lineup being on the DL...

(exaggerated % but you know what I mean)
Yep. This was it. More injuries than anyone else. Almost an unheard of amount of injuries and to win 85 games with that team was a good season IMO.
