Always wanted to start a thread for those of us who collect Pedro Martinez. Bring out what you got!
True story for post #1 - two years ago, I made a list of 5 Petey cards that I had identified their whereabouts and made it an aspirational goal to try and acquire all of them.
Things worked out in my favor, either via trade, or right place / right time. And I certainly benefited from some thoughtful collectors (here at FCB and beyond) who worked with me to help me out and proactively came my way when they had a card they thought I might be interested in.
Well, last week I finally picked up the fifth and final card on that "hit list" from two years ago. I located this card in 2011 and unfortunately it was sold to a set collector. I was able to get in contact with them, maintained an email relationship (only through ebay messages), and after 3+ years of persistently checking in he decided to sell this #1 /1 card:
which goes nicely with this guy, #1 /100 that I got last year sometime:
Guys, let's pay homage to the one of the greatest sub 6'0" pitchers of all time!
