I've been contemplating putting together the run of base sets of Topps Heritage from 2001 until now, but skipping on the SP's, at least for now.

i am fairly familiar with the last two releases, but i am wondering how in the early sets, do the vets appear
in non-sp form. Basically, are the top names of the game at the time of release, the "SP"'s in those sets?

Not necessarily.

My favorite were the Night SPs in 2003.

If you start this, let me know and I can get you some base that I have sitting aroung.

Best bet is to open up a beckett and see which sets had who as a SP. It was different every
year. Older sets are almost impossible to find on ebay these days not to mention heritage
base sets with no SP's. I have a huge assortment of SP's and can put you in contact with
the guy I sold all my base cards to.

Good Luck
Kevin
