Looking at the rookie autograph era, in my mind the Pujols Chrome Auto is clearly #1 , but #2 for me (and I'm sure others will disagree) is David Wright. He has only a single rookie autograph, is one of the faces of baseball, and IMO has a shot at being a HOFer. While Trout may pass him at some time, Mauer has many of the same attributes as Wright (with a bunch of batting titles, but not the NY presence) and Verlander and Kershaw are up there depending on how you value pitchers, for me Wright is still the 2nd best Chrome Autograph ever made.
Because of this I've been looking to pick up a Wright Chrome auto or two but have struck out quite a bit. Today I pulled the trigger on a series lot:
2002 Bowman Chrome Facsimile Auto BGS 9.5
2002 Bowman Chrome Base PSA 9
2002 Bowman Chrome Refractor SCG 92
2002 Bowman Chrome Xfractor SCG 96
2002 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor SCG 92
