What is your opinion? Why do you see that player as a "STAR"?

Jhonny Peralta has surprised me alot, with all his drug altercations hes been through, how did he end up with the Cardinals?
Does anyone think the Cardinals signed Jhonny Peralta to a $53-million contract without at least Googling him first?

What are your opinions about him or another interesting player?

Moe Berg, because he was a spy during WWII.

Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich, because they swapped wives.

Now those are some interesting guys!

Near Philly
Peralta, Melky Cabrera and Braun shouldn't even still be playing let alone getting huge Contracts.

As far as interesting goes, nobody beats the greatest lead-off hitter of all time. Look up some of the stories, they're fricking great!

I also thought of Moe Berg. One of those guys for whom baseball is merely the preamble to his story. Rube Waddell was also a fascinating guy, but likely because he had some form of mental deficiency, or possibly insanity.

Berg was also my first thought. Check out "The Catcher was a Spy" or "Moe Berg, Athlete, Scholar, Spy"

Ted Williams also had an amazing military career.
