On another note, it is great to see Chris Carpenter having some success on the way to recovery. 6IP 3H 0R 0ER 1BB 2K.

My guys are just tearing up spring training:

Edison Volquez ~ No earned runs this spring including World play.
Chris Dickerson ~ already 2 for 2 batting .387 (2 stolen bases last two days)
Tommy Hanson ~ 2.25 ERA in 15 innings.

The Reds will be a force this year.....exciting to watch them fight for the wild card. If you like any of these three guys check out my bucket

Anyone know???

Rolen and Snider were both pulled after only 1 at bat. Rolen fouled one off, strained his back, and the foul ball broke Snider's leg.

Some people don't get how spring training works and jump to conclusions when a player only gets a few AB's.

What they actually said during the broadcast of the Sox game was that he would not be starting the year with the club, and they would send him down to start the season, not right now.

JP, I was wondering the same thing earlier in the day when I read this:

"From the The Sports Xchange: Matt Wieters will settle the Orioles' backup catcher situation whenever he is recalled from the minors later this spring. In the meantime, three catchers are vying for time as the backup to the backup. All Wieters has done is bat .440 through 11 games, the highest on the club of any player with 10 games to his stat line. But the Orioles are set on sending him to Triple-A Norfolk to start the season. The team's first pick in the 2007 draft has only 437 professional at-bats, none of them above Double-A. Despite batting .355 with 27 home runs and 91 RBI between Class A and Double-A, Wieters will see a few more bus trips as the Orioles plan to curtail his service time and save one year of control before he potentially reaches free agency."

I was referring to the supers also. Well you took out the Parker now, but that Garza is incredible too.

I'm almost certain that guys can get spring AB's after they've already technically been sent down. Some guys, like Sean Kazmar with the Padres last year when he had a ridiculous week toward the end of the spring, get AB's without spring invites. Its strange, but I'm almost certain this is correct.
