I have been working on this set almost since inception.
I have all of the tough cards including the Steve Trout without the "Rainbow" inscription which I have never seen since I won this one 5+ years ago.
I have recently found a Frank Robinson variation that Beckett doesn't recognize. "The Judge" version isn't listed on any checklist and I have never seen another one. I have discovered Dan Ford and Tom Henke variations as well.
But the one card that has eluded me is the Andre Thornton auto with the "Thunder" inscription. I have never seen this card offered up ANYWHERE. I am beginning to doubt it's existence. Unfortunately, Upper Deck cannot give me a definitive answer.
For that reason alone, I have $100 in PP ready for anyone that can lead me to the purchase of this card. If I can successfully make a deal, the person that led me to the card will receive a $100 finders fee. Hell, anyone that can lead me to the card, regardless of whether or not I can make a deal will get $25 in PP.
I want to believe that I have the most comprehensive collection that has ever been put together from this set. I have seen sets that are available but none have the depth and completeness that mine does. In my opinion, this last card, Andre "Thunder" Thornton would end my quest for the most difficult set I have ever attempted to complete.
Here is my set:

I have a Thornton and a couple other commons. Now I will have to check to see if it has "Thunder" on it. I never really noticed, but it kind of defeats the purpose of a nickname set, if the nicknames aren't part of the signature, like so many in this set!

Good luck with the quest.

No dice on the nickname card, BUT...

Maybe someone at Fleer didn't know what they were doing, because I have a regular GOTG autograph with the nickname on it. It was probably meant for the nickname card!

I'm thinking a set mixup is what happened. Amazing looking set. Hope it is out there for you.
Frustrating to me that there are cards in the set that no one recognizes in a checklist, even the company themselves. Same occurrence in the 2007 sweet spot immortals set

They do exist because I remember seeing one when this product was first issued. Just have to keep hoping and waiting, buddy.

I think I remember seeing a Guidry with a "Gator" inscription and one with a "Louisiana Lightning" inscription. It may have been from one of the other auto sets in GOTG.

Regardless if you need to track down a last card or two, your set is sweet as balls.

Maine of course......
Completely crazy idea but I wonder if you could send a letter to Thornton TTM (through the mail) and ask him if he by chance has the card. It does look like he signs through the mail.

Great set and some great names from our respective childhoods!! I particularly like the "Human Rain Delay.";)
