Even though I totally disagree with home-field advantage for the WS being decided by it, I still thoroughly enjoy the All-Star game every year. It's easily the best All-Star game in the Major sports, and usually is close, especially lately, mostly due to the pitching.

Teams announced at 7ET on ESPN, discussed on MLBN at 8.

Kinda hopeful that 3 A's might be Starters, or at least into the online Final Vote. As a Wieters fan, even I think it's dumb he's in-line to Start.

Your thoughts?

Would be cool to see Betances get a well-deserved recognition, let's see if Farrell agrees

Sale and Rendon would be my picks for Final Vote...

And anybody else surprised that Josh Harrison made it? I know it gives them Versatility, but I don't think he's an All-Star, and I'm a pretty big fan of his...

Why and how is Jose Bautista the leading vote-getter (again)? He hasn't been great since 2011 and he's certainly not a big name like Trout or Cabrera or Jeter. In fact, he's not very famous at all outside Toronto.
He's having a very good season and should be an All-Star, but leading vote getter?
I've never understood how this fan voting works.

Surprised Tyson Ross got the call for the Padres. I thought for sure Street was going to represent us. Hope this doesn't mean Street is going to be traded before the all star break.

Evin Gattis .290 16HR 39RBI .342OBP
Jonathan Lucroy .329 9HR 44RBI .397OBP

and Molina wins by almost a million votes? seriously? Mesoraco got robbed.

Look at how many followers he has on Twitter. One of the most popular dominican players ever. Has a huge following in latin america. They bump the vote up for him every year.

Side note - very disappointed Garrett Richards didn't make the team. He's been stellar this year.

Why did you spell Lucroy "M-E-S-O-R-A-C-O"?

Funny; Brewers fans figured that if they couldn't get Lucroy the start, then they'd ruin 3rd base for everyone (especially Frazier).

Best long shot pick to make the roster has to be Pat Neshek.

Apparently he is good buddies with Matheny. I remember hearing they were good friends and that's why he was signed in the first place. He has been a surprise.

I am surprised he got the nod over Rosenthal, with his numbers.

If people are pissed about Yadi getting in over Lucroy, then they will be REALLY pissed if Matheny chooses Wainwright to start over Kershaw.
