Guide to Texas indy wrestlers

I felt there's plenty of untapped wrestlers in Texas indies. Giving you rundown on who's who around the state. If there's any interest I will post more.


"One Man" Mike Dell
Wrestles mainly at: NWA affiliated Texas shows such as BOW (Funaki fed), 360, and Inspire Pro; Wildkat Pro Wrestling (Louisiana)

Mike Dell is godsend to Texas wrestling indy fans. Trained in New Jersey he moved down to Texas and been at since. A very caliber worker in the ring along working a crowd to frenzy making a name in the state. A back injury may have cost him shot at WWE development but still reliable worker to this day. Consider one of best in Texas as promoters constantly putting belts on him. Was seen by millions as he appeared on Pepsi Super Bowl commercial and recently one of contestants of Steve Austin Broken Skull Challenge


"King of the Underground" Scott Summers
Wrestles mainly at: ACW; NWA affiliated Texas shows

He can mat wrestle, power wrestle, shoot wrestler, hardcore wrestle, or brawl. The guy is packaged all-on-one and very unpredictable in ring. He lays nothing but destruction wherever he goes. Has gone toe-to-toe with Jerry Lynn, Masada, Jaykus Plisken, Chris Hero, Antonio Cesaro, and Daniel Bryan. With Cesaro and Bryan up in WWE he boasts his accomplishment of beating them both. At IPW engage in a feud with Gregory Symonds, on-screen company leader and booker, on how he changed into a sellout. Recently beat Jack Jameson in a bloody no-rope barbwire match at ACW.


A.C.H.
Wrestles mainly at: ROH, ACW, IPW, St. Louis feds

One of hottest indy wrestlers to come out of Texas. ACH has the athleticism and charisma. Once his entrance music hit fans are up on their feet and within seconds he has them in palm of his hands. In ring very solid gifted high flyer bringing the best out of his opponent. Despite being in ROH he frequent trips down in Austin for his home base of ACW and IPW. His notable feuds in ACW with Matthew Palmer (greatest match in ACW history), Gary Jay, and Jaykus Plisken.

Masada
Notable feds: CZW, Freedoms (Japan), ACW, River City Wrestling, IWA-MS, Big Japan, ROH, XCW (closed)

Hardcore match specialist, he has traveled around rings of the world most notably Japan. A good wrestler without hardcore style but does it garnering him a cult following. His trademark is skewers which he will use to stab his opponent's forehead. When he's outside of the ring just move out of the way because he will get very reckless. Went toe to toe with Ryuji Ito, Jerry Lynn, Necro Butcher, Scot Summers, Jun Kusai, and Matthew Palmer in various feds and some are bloodiest hardcore battles you seen. Won deathmatch tournaments in IWA-MS and CZW. Has held CZW heavyweight title for over a year before torn ACL knocked him out which he recently recovered from. Recently won ACW Heavyweight title against Shawn Vexx.


"Centerfold" Matthew Palmer
Notable feds: ACW, IPW. MPX, NWA-BOW, XCW (closed)

One of best wrestlers no one heard or seen from outside of Texas. Very agile and athletic as he would leap/dive onto his oppoent from various places and I'm not talking about top rope. Well-rounded technical in the ring and can take lots of punishment. Don't let the pretty face fool you because he gets sinister hardcore style when pushed around. Longest ACW Hardcore champion holding it for two years and 2 months before losing it to Barrett Brown. The guy needs to be out of Texas once in a while to showcase his talent.


Robert Evans (known as R.D. Evans in ROH; Archibald Peck in Chikara)
Notable feds: Chikara, ROH, ACW, IPW, PCW (closed)

One of most charismatic wrestler I ever seen. Gives this guy a character/gimmick he would ramp it up and play it to full maximum potential as seen in ROH and Chikara. He uses character to work in the ring where he can be comedic or a backstabber or downright serious or everything all-in-between. Like Mankind he comes out two themes, one as his entrance (Journey - Anyway You Want It) the other for winning (Journey - Don't Stop Believin'). Before moving to east coast Canadian-born wrestler started out in DFW metroplex feds. Ventured down in ACW winning titles and hooked up with woman wrestler Portia Perez calling themselves Perevans. Both would split and began year long build to their match which Evans won in hate-filled match. Despite being in east coast he would make few visits back especially with IPW. Appeared on WWE TV being victim of Ryback bullying. Why haven't they signed this guy to development?

"Wrestling Goddess" Athena
Notable feds: ACW, IPW, AIW, Shimmer, Shine, Women Superstars Uncensored

Have become one of top women wrestler in the nation. Technical mat wrestler with various submission holds can lay it on. Have feuded and battle likes of LuFisto, Rachel Summerlyn, Barbi Hayden, and Su Yung. 2012 ACW Queen of Queens champion as well two-time Joshi and a television champion. Recently won AIW women title. Her finisher, O-Face, garner a cult following.


Barbi Hayden
Notable feds: ACW, IPW, BOW, NWA-Houston, Women Superstars Uncensored

Current NWA Women champion and ACW television champion, she is one of hardest workers improving every single month and year. She can get the crowd to cheer or boo depending on which fed she's at. Feuded with Angel Blue while friendly rivals with Athena.


Jessica James (also known as: Lady Poison)
Notable feds: ACW, IPW, WWPW-Diana

Technical wrestler with unique moveset which includes scorpion kick which she handstands and kick her opponents like scorpion strike. Been mostly around ACW wrestling either her current name or her zombie demon alter ego Lady Poison. When the monster of Lady Poison unleashed watch out for her finisher which is a green poison ooze kiss. She's been multi-time ACW joshi and tag team champion. Achieved her goal of wrestling in Japan for WWPW-Diana. Feuded with Athena and retired Rachel Summerlyn who was her tag team partner.

Ray "Death" Rowe
Notable feds: NWA-Houston, NWA-BOW, IPW, ROH

Imagine muscular CM Punk and you got him. Always stepped up his game in the ring as he will mat and shoot wrestle. Often teams with Jax Dane calling themselves The Path of Resistance. His finisher is a full nelson slam onto back of the head. Appeared in ROH earlier this year becoming a regular. A recent motorcycle accident sidelined him.


"Absolute" Ricky Starks
Notable feds: ACW, IPW, NWA-Houston, NWA-BOW

Raw but hottest upcomers in Texas indies. A natural in the ring and in charisma with fiery attitude. Feuded with Davey Vega and Submission Squad in ACW. Has been getting rubs in losses for his work ethic. Was recently DDT'd by Jake Roberts at NWA-BOW. Has appeared on WWE getting beat by Ryback and Dean Ambrose stealing his drink. He could go long way in indies and maybe up into development years down the road.


Barrett Brown (also known as Americos)
Notable feds: ACW, IPW, NWA-BOW, NWA-360, NWA-Bayou, Insane Hardcore Wrestling Entertainment, MPX, various DFW metro feds

A prodigy in the ring has made him hot commodity in Texas indies. The guy is under the drinking age and he wrestles like he been in for a decade. This heavily skilled high flyer has heavily travel Texas roads along with trips to Louisiana. Feuded with Carson in ACW over being a prodigy of Texas which led to respect between one another. He is current ACW Hardcore champion ending Matthew Palmer 27 month reign.

A buddy of mine works with BOW as "security"/ref. Have hit a show or 2 when I go back to TX.

"Dirty" Andy Dalton
Notable feds: MPX, VIP, NWA-Elite, Lone Star Championship Wrestling (formerly NWA-Houston), BOW, Inspire Pro

This is NOT the NFL QB. This is "dirty one" from of Texas indies. Old school type brawler using dirty tricks get advantage on his opponents from wiping his snot saliva on their face to low blows. Has won multiple championships across the state including Inspire Pro Heavyweight title whom he lost to Ricky Starks few months ago. He will always keep it dirty.


Keith Lee
Notable feds: MPX, VIP, Lone Star Championship Wrestling, Inspire Pro, BOW, ROH

Bask in my glory as he says. For big muscular man he can move, tumble, and fly. The gentle beast can lay it all in the ring. Currently Inspire Pro Prestige champion....has recently making waves after his impressive showing at ROH shows

Leva Bates is the best female Indy wrestler on the scene today.


I have a buddy who's last name is Acheson. We've always called him Ach, so I showed him all the A.C.H. shirts on Pre Wrestling Tees, and he has bought a few. He knows nothing about wrestling, but loves them. His favorite is the AC F'N H one.

"Texas Lion" Carson (also known as Houston Carson/Ken Carson)
Notable feds: ACW, Lonestar Championship Wrestling, NWA-BOW, Inspire Pro

When you enter the ring with him you are in the jungle. He's dead serious in the ring working methodical mat and powerhouse style. Uses the superkick as his finisher. Has feuded with Barrett Brown, Ray Rowe, Franco D'Angelo, and Mike Dell in various feds.
