Chris Davis Suspended 25 Games For Amphetamine Use

By Steve Adams [September 12, 2014 at 10:10am CDT]

Orioles first baseman Chris Davis‘ season is over as he has been suspended 25 games after testing positive for amphetamines, tweets Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun. MLB has since confirmed the suspension, which will run through the postseason. The suspension will cover eight postseason games, should Baltimore advance that far, as the team has 17 regular season contests remaining.

Would love if the excuse was more original, like straight up coming out and saying he's a meth addict. Or if he's going to recycle excuses, he could at least say he found some vitamin B12 in Miguel Tejada's old locker.

If he took the Adderall for ADD so he could focus more at the plate, imagine how horrible he'd be without it.
He's hitting .196 with a league-leading 176 strikeouts, and only 26 homers compared to 53 last year.

As an Orioles fan who watches every game, CD was on his way of coming out of it. His plate and pitch discipline had become MUCH better over the past two weeks and he was starting to go the other way with power like in 2013.

Perhaps he tried to go off it and recently got back on the horse?
