Was just watching the halftime highlights for football and they showed Kirk Cousins throwing a touchdown and referenced RGIII and said "Wally Pipp, anyone?"

And it occurred to me... Would most people even get that reference anymore?

Probably only if they were baseball fans who are versed a little bit in baseball history.

some couch potato who only watches NFL and college football and doesn't give a lick about baseball likely won't get the Pipp reference.
