Hold or sell: 1998 Derek Jeter Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems #/50

Hey everyone,

I just unearthed this card and am trying to figure out whether I should sell or hold. A BGS 8.5 sold for $1,425 last month - I know it's a HUGE set in basketball (Jordan gets 5 figures). Any opinions? I'll get a scan up tomorrow but for now it's this card:

Yours graded? Won't be a better time to sell in the next 5 years I know that much lol

This is generally my feeling too - not graded, but in pretty strong shape (I'd guess a 9). Just got it today, wish I had had it a few weeks earlier so I could've gotten it graded.

I'd sell ASAP. He's getting a ton of attention now, but the Playoffs, football etc. will quickly have people focusing elsewhere. It will likely always be a highly desirable card, but I think the timing is perfect now.

Sell now. Unfortunately, when any player retires, people start to lose interest immediately. Rivera sales have slowed since he's not in the box score on a near nightly basis. Just the way it is.

Yeah, he just lambasted Jeter to knock down prices a bit so he can win more of his stuff. lol
