Great sign. Yoan Moncada is still on the market. Might sign a comparable deal.

Except Yoan will be under the international spending limits, meaning any team that wants to sign him will be on the hook for 100% tax in addition to his deal...changes the playing field a bit.

The spending limit didn't seem to stop the Yankees......
Overspending on the IFA market does prohibit those teams from signing players to larger contracts until the next signing period (July 2015). Theoretically any team that stayed under the spending limit could sign Moncada before the current signing period is over in June 2015. Subject to the penalties listed above.

Yea..they spent around 30m on 10 of the top 30 intl guys this year. Red Sox were another to go substantially over. Both will be capped at 300k next two seasons. Not sure if any other teams will be penalized.

If Yoan was to sign a 65m deal that'd equate to 130m for any team interested. Big chunk of change and will scare most away.

Tomas will be an interesting player to watch in Chase Field. Would be great for the game if he turned into something special.
