The Giants send minor league RHP's Kendry Flores & Luis Castillo back to the Marlins for McGehee, who'll fill Kung Fu Panda's position.

A player leaves sucky franchise(marlins) goes to winner giants. Don't see any kind of sucking in his future.

Well not quite the answer to all the Padres moves but something. Pablo was loved here but in reality he's not crazy hard to replace.

McGehee will not come close to replacing Pablo. Marlins sold high on him and found a sucker. McGehee is a glorified singles hitter. You'll be wishing Pablo was back after the first month.

McGehee is not a good MLB 3B.

I think it's just a so-so move for the Giants. Better than the Peavy move though.

Huge? have you seen McGehee's stats?

He batted .287 / .355 / .357. .712 OPS. That is not good. He has zero power and is a singles hitter. He was worth 1 WAR and had a negative defensive WAR.

They should have made a bigger play for Headley IMO. He has almost the same value as Pablo when factoring in defense and offense.

I guess that is somewhat cool. I would rather an above average out of state player than an average or below average local but that's just me.

Those stats are definitely a below average 3B. I would not be happy with this move as a Giants fan but if you are then good on you.
