I'm guessing "fan" = guy who bought a heavily discounted shirt at TJ Maxx and has no clue who Doc is.

Looks staged to me. If real, wonder if halladay identified himself to the guy.

According to the article his tweet stated he did not interact with the guy. And said he wondered if he saw himself on Halladay's tweet if he was in fact a fan.

That is too bad. I think I'd probably want to reveal myself to the guy for the fun of it. If he was worried about exposing himself to a large number of people, he could have done it discretely.
I remember years ago, I was at Magic Mountain CA and Reggie Smith was the leader in a fast pitch game. I asked the person manning the station and they said it was THAT Reggie Smith. I spent the rest of my time between rides looking around me to see if I could spot Reggie! I was probably 11-12 at the time. Never did see him...
