What?? Something from '88 topps I don't know about??

File this one under "stuff found in the back room" part two.

I'm thinking it could be a "box topper" ad since it's the same size as the inside of a box and is directed to the retail store clerk/ purchaser.

But here's why I'm confused, I've sold a zillion '88 topps boxes through the years (nearly all by packs) and never ever recall seeing this ad.

Any clue?

Something I just noticed, maybe this was also (only?) in late issued '87 boxes as the wax box in the pic shows the '87 topps design.

But again, I sold a ton of 87 too and don't recall this.

Always neat to find old school ads . I love their "limited quantities available" line.

My dad owned a pharmacy and when he ordered a bunch of Topps candy products from the local wholesale distributor, they would occasionally send him a free factory set. One of the sets I remember that he brought home for me was a 1985 and quite possibly a 1988.
