what is going on topps?

I just got my redemption in the mail and I see there is no code but I have to mail in the card with my info on it. What is wrong with having a code? Now i have to spend more money to ship it to topps and hope to God they get it and it doesnt get lost. What the heck Topps.....Every year Topps lets me down more and more...

I think it's just for the Live breaks redemptions.

Probably easier for them to track and it makes it so they don't have to deal with people claiming multiple spots from stolen/lost codes...

Before codes, most collectors made copies of front and back to help with that...
