From the 60s to 00s, which card per decade would you say is the most "famous"

Mine are

60s Ryan RC
70s Brett RC
80s Griffey UD RC
90s Bo b/w score
00s pujols bowman chrome RC

The 80s might be the hardest considering the mcgwire usa, cal rc Mattingly donruss RC, and others

70's: 1971 Munson
80's: Upper Deck Griffey
90's: Mantle/Griffey dual autograph
00's: Pujols Chrome

I'd basically go with BBC list except the 90s. I'd either go NNOF Thomas , 93 SP Jeter , 94 SP ARod , even the 90 Leaf Thomas or Sosa . I think I'd choose one of those over the Bo. With the 80s I think the Mattingly and McGwire def could compete w the Griffey. The 70s/80s I think are 100% right in terms of famous. The 00s , I really am not sure, but if its not the AP , maybe the POH Ruth , but not much else as famous.

In theory the 00 Pujols Chrome should be the most famous card from that era, as he is the best player from that decade. . . but how often does that card get talked about? Prospecting has gotten to the point where guys often want to move on to the next big thing instead of doubling back and pumping the sure HOF guys.

To me the Longo Super is one of those few cards that takes on a life of its own. The player in question no longer matters, the card itself is infamous just like the Wagner card. Every time I see Bowman products I think about this card and the mysteries of Wossa/Robin Williams. rip.

Too many crazy 90's cards you would have to go by player for that and Bo's 1991 score would not be one of them.

For the '00's the '09 Bowman Draft Chrome Auto Mike Trout would be right up there with the Pujols. And for '10's the '11 Topps Update Trout rc.

They probably wanted the Beckett cover! Like many other subscribers that year, my copy failed to ever arrive in my mailbox. When asked to correct this oversight, Beckett sent me a duplicate copy of the following month's issue featuring Griffey!

I STILL WANT WHAT I PAID FOR BECKETT!!!!!

This would be a constantly evolving list as what is "famous" or "iconic" changes with the wind.

I'd say the biggest card if this decade would be the Strasburg superfractor. I'd be hard pressed to identify any cards from the 2000's I would consider recognizable beyond the walls of the hobby.

During almost the entire decade of the 80s, I would have said the most famous 1960s card would have been Pete Rose 1963 Topps card. That was before Nolan Ryan signed with Texas, got his 300, 5000 and an couple more no-hitters and his "legend" seriously took off as if he had a whole marketing company pushing him as a brand.

For the 1980s themself, I'd have to say either the 1984 Topps Mattingly or the 1986 Donruss Canseco. While the '84 Donruss Mattingly was the "big" card in the hobby, it seems like the Topps card is what was always being used in articles and magazine covers. Both were probably overtaken by the '89 Upper Deck Griffey.

It will always be a personal debate. Think about the 30s, where there are a more limited number of sets and designs to choose from. I'd personally say it is 33 Goudey Ruth #181 , but I bet I'd get solid argument from people just on which of the 4 Ruth cards from that set it could be, let alone any other cards such as the 33/34 Lajoie, Dimaggio or Williams RCs, etc. What makes them famous though? Scarcity, value, popularity, non-hobby identification, other? Still, that green background card is a well known image for sure.

I hate to say it, but the most famous cards from the last several years have probably been Topps gimmick cards such as the Jeter with the President in the background, or the squirrel card.
