THIS DAY IN ROYALS HISTORY-The Pine Tar Game: In 1983, George Brett's ninth inning home run giving the Royals a 5-4 lead is disallowed and the Royals lose at Yankee Stadium. The ruling is appealed and Brett's home run is later reinstated.
