The fact that some team will only have to pay him the ML minimum of $400,000 with the Tigers on the hook for the remaining $14M, means some team will pick him up.

As much as we can hope that he doesn't get picked up, the reality is at $400,000 he's a bargain for a DH position.

In that case how could a division rival pass up the opportunity to really screw over the Tigers financially? I would do it in a heart beat since the Tigers have been trying to buy their way to a championship.

Just read Buster Olney's blog discussing where he might end up, and he makes a pretty good case that offers may be few, if any.
