IMO it depends on what is being collected. But in general, I would say...
Coins/stamps 50-60yrs +
Baseball cards 30-40yrs +
Video game memorabilia 20-40yrs
Pokemon cards 30 or less yrs (I'm a teacher and it seems like nearly every kid between 5 and 12 years old collects this stuff - reminds me of GPK and Baseball cards when I was growing up)

I'd say Coins/Stamps >50
Baseball cards 15-25 and again from 40+
Videogame memorabilia is 16-23 usually
Pokemon cards 13< and 17-22
Magic TCG is 16-26

I sell sports cards at local minor league stadium but I cater to the kids - my prices $1.00 /5.00 . This is my 12th year there . I will have older collectors ask for some cards which I will bring if they are local . There are a lot of fans that follow their team to away games so I do kept a supply ready .
