I hope I'm wrong but I think this trade sucks for Boston. Maybe Beeks pans out, maybe he doesn't but I don't see how Eovaldi brings value to the team. Again, as a fan, I hope he proves me wrong.

As the age old adage goes, you can never have enough pitching.

At this point I think Eovaldi is a better option than Pomeranz or Steven Wright who both seem to be injured all the time when they are not sucking on the mound. Don't get me wrong, Eovaldi ain't no crown jewel either (although he's been pretty decent this year) and he'll probably end up just doing spot starts when there is an injury. He's really just insurance, a very cheap rental.

And it's not like the Sox gave up anything significant for him.
