While many collectors were watching the 96 Certified Gold+ auctions last week, which was pretty awesome, over on Heritage there is something even more amazing, IMHO. The #1 PSA Set Registry entry for 1933 Goudey is being broken up, with listings ending tonight, and they are stunners. With about 7 hours to go, there are 17 cards bid over $10,000, without counting the 20% buyer's premium. Top card, of course, is the #144 Ruth, a PSA 9 at $302,000. The #191 Ruth is also a 9 at $190,000. The #106 Lajoie is a 9 at $170,000, and #92 Gehrig, also a 9, is at $120,000. Absolutely beautiful cards, it's hard to believe they survived this long in such condition without being transported via TARDIS. The Gehrig, one of my personal favorite cards, looks like it was printed yesterday on a square of porcelain tile. And there are many other cards just as nice. I don't think there are any 10s in this auction, though, so there is room to upgrade if you win all of them.
