I'd kind of like to get maybe a patch and an auto of the top players from the last 20 years. Guys like Pujols, Wright, Braun, Ichiro (that'll be tough), Ripken, Jeter, A-Rod, Hanley...

lmao, its not a real list if arod is not on your list of the top 20 players of the last 20 years and sorry but ryan braun is no were near this list as much as i like him as a player

until someone lists some names, it's kind of pointless to debate.

Also, it might be easier if we make it 10 years.

Thinking it over, you guys are right, Braun is not in the top 25 for the last 20 years. I typed one thing, but was thinking something else completely :oops:

What exactly do you mean? Best players that debuted within 20 years? The players that have been the best over the past 20 years? Maddux for example, debuted prior to 1989, but didn't really become the Maddux we came to know till later. If it's the players that have been the best, Braun wouldn't be on there, as he just hasn't logged enough time to put him ahead of guys with longer careers and good numbers, even though Braun will most likely end up with better numbers.

Thats just off the top of my head, I think the ones who are retired played within the last 25 years and that is just off the top of my head, not even including pitchers or anything. I would take many ACTIVE players of Braun, but of the last 20 years? You are nuts, and a homer.

If you dont include PED people, then you dont have a list at all since many are accused, but there are tons out there that we still dont even know about (Example Manny)

first off, i don't have a roids bias so i will include known/suspected users on my list. also, it is tough to narrow it down to 25 players of the last 20 years as many player's careers overlapped, so i'll break it down by decade (5 hitters, 5 pitchers per). here goes...

1980's
1. cal ripken jr.
2. rickey henderson
3. george brett
4. don mattingly
5. kirby puckett

1. roger clemens
2. doc gooden
3. dave stewart
4. jack morris
5. dennis eckersley

1990's
1. ken griffey jr.
2. barry bonds
3. frank thomas

once again, very hard to narrow down. i also chose not to include anyone who debuted after pujols and ichiro in 2001 since there is simply not enough data to put them with the greats.

Agree with all but Reyes, Berkman and Cabrera. Reyes and Cabrera haven't done it long enough and I don't think of Berkman as truly elite.
I would add Curt Schilling, John Smoltz, Mariano Rivera to your list.
