Another 7 innings tonight allowing 0 runs and nothing to show for it. He's the West Coast version of Johan Santana.

Well, with these 7 scoreless innings he brings his season ERA down to 5.46 so it isn't as though he is pitching consistently well.

So far, his five starts have looked like...
Start 1 - good
Start 2 - good
Start 3 - ugly
Start 4 - ugly
Start 5 - good (tonight)

So let's not project too much heartache here.

ERA is skewed from the 2 terrible starts. The kid has gotta get a win out of one of the three other efforts. Here is a better rundown:

Start 1 - Great (2 H, 1 ER, 6 K's)
Start 2 - Great (1 H, 1 ER, 13 K's)
Start 3 - ugly
Start 4 - ugly
Start 5 - Great (4 H, 0 ER, 3 K's)

Tough to get 3 ND's when you allow 2 ER in 19 innings, giving up only 7 hits and striking out 22.
