Just flipping through box scores, here's some notables for today.

Boston:
Big game for Jon Lester. 6 innings, 1 ER, 12 K's. He turned it up last season from May on, hopefully he gets on a roll.
Another homerun for Jason Bay, he's got 15 so far this year.

Detroit:
Granderson with his 13th homer of the season.
Edwin Jackson with 8 shutout innings. Now 5-3 with a 2.30 ERA

NY:
Teixeira with his 16 homer. He has been absolutely on fire!!

KC:
Greinke gives up 3 earned bumping his ERA to 1.10.

San Diego:
Adrian Gonzalez is the first player to 20 homers.
Chad Gaudin has 9 K's in 5 innings.

Nice start to the year for Jackson!

I don't get why the Mets or any other team for that matter did not offer up something better than Matt freaking Joyce to the Rays for Edwin. They could use him so badly right now, and I'm sure they could have traded someone better than that.

Medlen now with 6 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 9 SOs and only 1 BB.

Everyone thought he would do that in his first start....he just needed time to get comfortable plus make his way to the desert  home of baseball's anemic offense.

ERA watch:

Start 1: 15.05 ERA
Start 2: 9.84 ERA
start 3: 6.28 ERA

it would be 4.00 but 3 inherient runs scored.
