I'd like to see the Phillies get a little more for Doanld. If Feliz plays like he is now all year, they'll defiantly pick up the club option for next year. The entire infield is set and Donald is blocked. Donald would then be the bench utility spot that Bruntlett is now.

Who else is available.....Peavy and Oswalt are........ Bedard?

yah if it is straight up, phillies need to take that. penny's contract is cheap and coming back to the NL, he might do well.

donald will be nothing but a bench player like eric bruntlett (at least on the phillies). i know nothing about donald's defense but bruntlett is top notch so it's going to be hard to beat him out.

Because pitching right now is at a premium. We can can get a few good players for him.
Theres around 3 teams looking to deal for him...so the sox should get something good in return.

No, because Brad Penny is no better then any of our other options Moyer, Blanton, Hamels, and Happ are all here to stay. I'll take my chances with Bastardo or Andrew Carpenter.

I wouldn't be upset if they got rid of Donald, but I just don't want Penny. Donald is also better then how he has been playing. He's been hampered by injuries as well all year. I think not making the team has also hurt is production. He's more then a bench player.

I hate to burst your bubble but Oswalt is definitely NOT available. Drayton McLane came out and pretty much said that even if he wanted to be traded he wouldn't do it.

Every year Oswalt's name is thrown around in the media as being a trade candidate and every year they are wrong. This year is no different.

This has been rumored for weeks. Nothing new.

While I'm not a fan of trading prospects, the trade of Outman and Cardenas for Blanton was a trade that I'd make over and over again as obtaining Blanton won us a WFC.

So, if this trade goes through, and Penny stays healthy and helps get us to another WC, no matter what Jason Donald does, it's a good trade.

Penny's really not pitching as badly as his numbers would indicate. I don't know they the Red Sox would want Jason Donald, though.
