Gordon Beckham ........Finally

got a hit... thats all.

By the way people at games, scouts and others say he has looked good and has just had some terrible luck getting robbed on a couple hard hits. Only 2 Ks in 13 Abs is a good sign.

Anyone seen him play the past week and if so how did he look jw
thanks

Re: Gordon Beckham ........Finally

These guys beg to differ LOL:

Two scouts have told the Arlington Heights Daily Herald that Gordon Beckham will have to change his swing to be an effective hitter at the major league level.
"He looks like a pretty good athlete," one scout said. "But he’s got to change his swing or (pitchers) are going to keep pounding him inside." Said another scout: "The way his swing is, he’s got no chance right now. They’re going to keep working him in until he makes an adjustment." Beckham has shown a long swing and poor patience while starting off 0-for-13 as a major leaguer.

Re: Gordon Beckham ........Finally

O ... well then ::facepalm:: :( .

I think he will be fine and start hitting very soon because what he did in the minors seemd to go under the radar but i thought it was very impressive. Also this kid seems to have the "it" factor and be a true baseball player in every sense of the word.

His swing is very awkward looking.

Many people said Hunter Pence had an awkward unorthodox swing too and that has worked out pretty well for him in Houston

Just goes to show you can't trust just one scout's opinion.
I find it hard to believe that, if his swing was too long to compete in the majors, the White Sox wouldn't have done something about it.

He's been overanxious. He was benched earlier this week a day after making 3 outs on 3 pitches. He walked yesterday and today I believe so maybe he's settling in a bit. On the other hand, I don't feel he's been real unlucky with "at em balls" either. He'll figure it out though
