This trade benefits both teams, IMO.

Nuggets:
They get rid of Iverson, who clearly didn't fit in the system.
They get a true point guard in Billups.
J.R. Smith could now start.
They have a bunch of very good role players to support Melo.


Pistons:
They get an elite go to guy in AI.
Great supporting cast in Sheed, Rip, Prince.
Stuckey could now start.
Pistons will no longer be a boring team anymore!

Yes, good points. I am now wondering if the Pistons are going to offer an extension to AI or was/is there plan to rid themselves of some future salary to take on a HUGE contract in the offseason (Lebron).... Also, if I am thinking straight - Sheed's contract expires this year too. Although I would pretty much bet the farm on him coming back

Yep, I bet the Pistons are clearing space for next season IF Iverson doesn't do well. If he does, I wouldn't be surprised they resign him.
