Today was not a good day...just got home from work and found out one of my 5 month old twins is going to have to have some surgery to fix a blood vessel that is constricting around his heart.......needless to say I am at a loss on this one.
Minimum will be $2500 out of my pocket as that is my deductible, and I must move all of my stuff to cover this as I can not afford to dip into my savings or investments since my wife and I used a lot of that to buy a house, car, have twins, etc.
If anyone on FCB is interested in anything, let me know, I am mainly looking to make my money back as to what I paid....and looking to start listing everything on ebay on Sunday-Wednesday in 5-7 day auctions.
UPDATE: Went to the Doctor Today
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
Have an update from the doctor. At least now I know what is fully going on as I didnt go to the routine checkup visit we had yesterday. Apparently the doctor yesterday noticed that Kellan was having to breathe pretty heavy when taking breaths, which is from a condition that he had at birth which is the softening of the esophagus that normally goes away by a babies first birthday.
However, if the baby is struggling to breathe or gasping (Kellan is definitely not gasping) it could mean that the atery going from his neck to his heart are constricting around his heart which is not good.
We went and saw a specialist today and they confirmed that this was beginning to happen. It seems like we caught it at about the earliest stage possible and that is a good thing. My biggest concern was what damage would the surgery cause Kellan down the road as far as heart issues when he got older, playing sports, gym class, etc. The doctor said they always have to watch this stuff closely but normally babies bounce back and dont ever have issues with it again other than possibly leading to asathma or some other treatable breathing problem.
So after all that, they want to see him again in 2 weeks and then the week after that will be the surgery. So I basically have 3 weeks of hell worrying every second about my little guy.
Good news is I ran a bunch of numbers...and without having to dip into my savings/etc, I have set up a goal number of $5,000 which should more than cover all expenses out of pocket......
GOAL: $5,000.00
HAVE: $1,475.00 Currently
Thank you to everyone for your support.
