07/21/09 UPDATE:
The 2009 Rookie Class is easily shaping up as one of the best of the decade
(alongside 2001 and 2007)! Prior to the season, Baseball America released
their "Top 100 Prospects" list for 2009 and we've kept track of how many of
these blue-chip youngsters have been called up during the first-half of the
2009 season. To date, six of the top seven players on Baseball America's
list have made it to the majors in 2009 including #1 Matt Wieters, #2 David
Price, #3 Colby Rasmus and #4 Tommy Hanson . . .and every one of them will
have signed Rookie Cards in the 2009 SP Authentic Future Watch Subset!
Please note, in addition, Nippon League All-Stars Koji Uehara (Orioles) and
Kenshin Kawakami (Braves) are also included!
We listened to the concerns that dealers and customers had for previous
releases of SP Authentic Baseball where boxes were full of signed RC's of
31-year-old middle relievers. The 2009 edition is an about face with a
checklist littered with Top Prospects! In fact, 17 of the 25 players are
ranked amongst the 100 top prospects in all the minors and 11 of them are
the #1-ranked prospect within their respective organizations!
This year's Future Watch Autographs checklist is loaded with twenty-five
star prospects including Brett Anderson (A's), Gordon Beckham (White Sox),
Dexter Fowler (Rockies), Tommy Hanson (Braves), Derek Holland (Rangers),
Kenshin Kawakami (Braves), Matt LaPorta (Indians), Fernando Martinez (Mets),
Gerardo Parra (Diamondbacks), Rick Porcello (Tigers), David Price (Rays),
Pablo Sandoval (Giants), Colby Rasmus (Cardinals), Travis Snider (Blue
Jays), Koji Uehara (Orioles), Matt Wieters (Orioles) and Jordan Zimmermann
(Nationals).

Available ONLY in UD Products!
. Colby Rasmus, OF Cardinals #3 overall ranked prospect of 2009
