One of my old roomies from college got hurt the same year I did, but didn't need surgery and signed with teh Red Sox after his senior year. However, their team doc wouldn't clean his shoulder so he was released. Has been playing indy ball the last three years planning on this to be his last. His girlfriend had bought me a plane ticket to go surprise him for his birthday in a couple weeks. She had been worried lately that the trip wouldn't happen. His era is .7 something and he's been back up to 93-94, but he told me he didn't think he'd get another shot as he's about to turn 26. Got signed by the Yankees today and is headed to Charleston tomorrow morning. Just thought I'd share this with you all as I'm thrilled for him to get another chance, and if any of you are in the area, check out Jeff Williams if he's throwing.
