You and WoundedDuck have inspired me to finally try my hand at a sketch card...I'm almost done.

Some quick observations. It's hard to draw on this scale...also...drawing on glossy card stock was a bad idea on my behalf.

Good work!

Actually, spelt is a correct spelling. Spelt is used more commonly in British English, just like learnt is a past tense of learn.

We dealed cards, or we dealt cards?

I think spelt is what fits better here.

"When I saw you spelt his name wrong on the jersey" or "When I saw you spelled his name wrong on the jersey"

I don't know about you guys, but in New England I think more people use Spelt then Spelled. Spelt comes out easier, and it is more fluent sounding.

I think spelled would have fit better if I wrote...
"When I saw you had spelled his name wrong on the jersey"

Sorry, but spelt is a past tense of spell, as it is also a type of wheat.

It isn't used as commonly in America as it and other past tenses were changed from -ed ending to make the english language easier to learn.

Spelt is used in american english but more commonly in other countries that speak the english language.

Here you go...
http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/i ... spell.html

Burnt/Burned
Clapt/Clapped
Dreamt/Dreamed
Knelt/Kneeled
Swept/Sweeped
Leapt/Leaped
Leant/Leaned
Smelt/Smelled
Spilt/Spilled
Stript/Stripped

All of those are correct, as is Spelt/Spelled

From Dictionary.com...
Spell; verb, spelled or spelt, spell?ing.

You don't know what you're talking about, and you don't want to be wrong, just like Ortiz denies he took steroids even though he was caught (See that's a similie)
