Fresh Meadows, NY
'99: NLCS Loss to Atlanta via walk-off walk.
'00: Subway Series loss, Yankees celebrate at Shea
'01: Hopes crushed after Benitez/Franco implode in September
'02-'04: The Steve Philips era
'05: Productive year, though never really in playoff contention
'06: NLCS Loss to Cards in game seven, Beltran looking at strike three
'07: Worst collapse in history, miss playoffs on final day
'08: Collapse 2.0, miss playoffs on final day again
'09: Injury plagued, pathetic baseball in the first season of Citi Field

I know Cubs fans have it rough, but the repeated failure in that run-down is just phenomenal. Let's Go Mets!

New York has another team besides the Yankees?

That's where your beloved Carlos Gomez came from buckaroo.

(Yes, I'm a Mets fan). Have around 12,000 Mets cards, over 200 autos/gu. It's a rough time right now. I've completely stopped watching them play on TV, and I haven't typed a Mets player into an ebay search in over a month.

We're born to suffer with our teams, if we're lucky, they pay us back for decades of heartbreak. Since the phillies won the world series I find it harder and harder to remember all the bad teams I endured watching day in and day out.

In five year, i could be back to being a long suffering fan.

I lived with "a little roller along first, behind the bag! It gets through Buckner! Here comes Knight and the Mets win it!" for almost 20 years...
