Clayton Kershaw has not given up a run in 6 of his last 10 starts. He's given up a total of 8 runs over those 62 innings. Thought this was noteworthy.

Yeah, the point is something like that shouldn't be needed, but it is. If he was doing what he's doing now in AAA, his stuff would be blowing up.

His stuff is very cheap IMO. This idea came up in another thread and I know I have made nice money off guys like Kershaw. With players in the Minors very often you have to hope the guy performs better, or maintain their performance at higher levels to warrant increases. With Kershaw, all he has to do is keep up what he has been doing and sooner or later he'll get noticed. At that time people will realize how well he has done, and the increases should be much more significant than a flash in the pan.

With all that said, and knowing he's still just 21, he walks way too many guys.

I think you can still make money on players who are in the majors.

Leading the NL in walks....still a good pitcher though, but walks are definitely a problem.

Walks are only a problem if guys take advantage and the runners score. Kershaw BAA is .196 and he strands a large majority of his walks. His Whip (1.22) is 25th in baseball..That is better than Lester, Billingsley, Lackey, Wainwright, Cliff Lee, etc..

Still, the hobby has not seen what happens to the modern (read: tighter print run) rookie card when a player like Pujols, Wright, or Lincecum have long, successful careers.

It stands to reason there will be more money to be had on MLB guys when less attention is paid on MiLB guys. Almost all money on MiLB guys disappears fast - its short-term, but this is not the case for MLB guys.

It still remains to be seen whether the demand for MiLB cards of first ballot HOFers will be great. In the past this has certainly not been the case. From what we have seen so far, FY card prices have stagnated and even dropped as time has gone on.

Overproduction explains a lot of the lack of demand for rookie cards of the past. That's why Chrome stuff, with controlled print runs, can't be compared to current HOFer FY's.
