Couple good pitching matchups tonight:

Rick Porcello vs. Matt Garza

Tommy Hanson vs. Pedro Martinez

CC Sabathia vs. Mark Buehrle

And all three of those matchups feature at least one team fighting for a playoff spot, with the Tigers/Rays series probably having the biggest impact, as the Tigs try to extend their AL Central lead and the Rays try to pull closer to the top of the Wild Card Race.

Nothin like a big day of baseball.

Not a chance they get the Braves-Phillies in today.

Pat Misch starting for the Met's today. Had a good outing. The Met's say he'll be in the rotation the rest of the year.

Interested in getting rid of that card?

It'll be on Sportsbuy as an auction tonight. Might be able to get it cheap.

Porcello is lookin great so far tonight, only one hit through 3 IP, and the hit was a gift from the scorekeeper because it was pretty clearly an error. The Tigers apparently didn't come to play defense tonight but Porcello has so far gotten out of the jams the D has put him in.

And Inge made up for his error with a long jack over the bullpen to give Detroit an early 1-0 lead.

I think McCutchen might pass him tonight. McCutchen is on a tear right now and might get about 15-18 HR's by the end of the year with a .300 BA, sprinkled in with over 20 steals.

Brandon Allen is 3-3 with a double and two runs scored. He's a great buy right now.

Speaking of great buys, Andrew McCutchen went 3-5 with 4RBI and was a triple short of the cycle.

Justin Upton is looking good since coming off the DL: 2-3 with a walk and a SO tonight.

Fielder and Braun each went yard tonight.

Is there a better back-to-back tandem in the MLB right now?
