Betances undergoes Tommy John surgery
By Mike Axisa
Via Mike Ashmore, pitching prospect Dellin Betances had Tommy John surgery a few days ago and is starting the rehab process in Tampa. Betances made eleven starts for High-A Tampa this year, but between various injuries he’s managed just 159.2 IP over the last two years. Hopefully he’s ready to go in 2011. · (16) ·

He was always considered a high-risk prospect, and not even health related.

Hopefully he can make something happen in 2011.

Man, jd. Sorry about that. I hope that Dellin can come back and be an ace. Not just for your investment, but because I'd hate to see a bright star not make it.

First Montero has an injury and now Betances has his TJ surgery.

If anyone were to ask me for prospect advice, I would tell them not to buy anyone I have bought. Injuries, more injuries, and even more injuries. I wish there was a giant face palm that could take up my entire computer screen.

Players do come back from TJS these days. My guy Erik Cordier is back from TJS and hasn't missed a start all season. His velocity is back up in the mid 90's. Control is what comes back last from what I've seen/heard.
