Back in 1980, Jerry Reuss opened the season in the bullpen for the Dodgers. He pitched effectively in 8 games, going 3-0 while earning 3 saves (with a 1.40 ERA) before making the starting rotation. On June 27th, he threw a no-hitter against the Giants, with a Bill Russell error accounting for the only baserunner in the game (in the first inning).
But who was the last pitcher to throw a no-hitter and earn a save in the same season? And it wasn't Derek Lowe.
