To me the obvious ones are
C: Mauer
1B: Pujols
2B: Utley
SS: Hanley

After that, who do you have? I'd go
3B: Zimmerman
LF: Braun
CF: Kemp
RF: Upton

Pitchers are going to be an endless debate, but I think the position players are a little easier to distinguish. To me the key decision is 3B- Zimmerman, Wright, or Longo?

Are we talking as they are now, or as a RC? Meaning, If I choose Pujols, would that be as a RC or as of today?

You're able to start a real team. Who do you want at each position? If you want to win now, so be it, but I think most on this board will have an eye to the future as well.

It's weird, all the best 2B seem to be right around the same age, 27-28, then Utley is 30. I took Zobrist because he's a bit younger than Utley, offers more versatility, plus even if he takes a step back going forward, he's still probably about an .850 OPS guy. Oh, and if he were to stick at 2B, he'd probably improve and be solid, if not above average.

for second baseman, Im a big fan of jose lopez... he had a family member murdered this year and had a terrible start, but his power is shining thruuuu! looking at his build+swing is really fun. Im going out on a limb and saying .279-32-109 next year

:D No one was more convincing in his argument for the Rockies than Mets manager Jerry Manuel. He believes the Rockies will win the wild card. He calls them one of the best teams the Mets have faced this season. Manuel sees a lot of National League East rivals Florida and Atlanta, who are among the teams fighting the Rockies for the wild-card spot. And the Mets just played the Giants a few weeks ago. Why does he like the Rockies' chances?

"Their shortstop. He's a player. He's gangster," Manuel said. "He's not just on the gangster bus. He's driving it wherever he wants to go."

Told of the praise, Troy Tulowitzki grinned. If there's one thing he wants to be known as, it's a gamer, a guy who can be counted on to win. Remember, he's only been on one losing team in his life, that coming last season.

Manuel says that about everyone.
