Most saw MLB time (Gamel, Escobar, Iribarren) and the 4th got traded (Cole Gillespie) to AZ.

Lorenzo Cain was hurt for a while.

Logan Schafer had the best year of them all: .308, 148H, 80R, 6HR, 31 Doubles, 7 Triples, 58RBI, only 56K in 480AB, .370OBP, .440SLG, and .809OPS.

Ryan Strieby put up what most guys would call a great season....in 86 games.
.308 19 HR 58 RBI OBP/SLG/OPS .427/.565/.991

Brennan Boesch led all of Double-A in homers.
.275 28 HR 93 RBI 11 SB OBP/SLG/OPS .318/.510/.828

Rick Porcello--Don't really need to talk about him as he's pretty obviously been a big success.

Jarrod Parker was looking good and then got hurt and missed the rest of the year.

Logan Morrison showed that he is still an OBP machine.

Overall, I'd say it was a good year for my guys in the minors. I also had 4 big investments make me some great money when they debuted in the Majors this season. It's been a fun year of minor league ball and prospecting.

My prospect's had fairly strong year's:

1. Michael Taylor (minor injury but on torrid pace, could've come back but Phillies decided to let him regain full strength for the Winter League)
2. Jesus Montero (injury but was on torrid pace)
3. Cory Luebke (led Cal league in ERA for first part of the season until promotion to AA where he continued showing great improvement, performance sliding once he was suspected to be playing through an injury- which was confirmed & he was sent to the DL for the last bit of the season)
4. Brian Matusz (promoted to the big's, doing above-average for a rookie)
5. Joe Savery (huge year for him as he shows again this year that all he does is win games)
6. Dom Brown (started off huge in in the beginning & then looked good upon promotion to AA, though he faded pretty badly down the stretch & finished with a .279 avg & experienced a slight power outage)
7. Brett Wallace/Justin Smoak

Decent Year's:

1. Chris Johnson (finished strong after an injury plagued season & is getting the "Sept Callup")
2. Cory Kluber (had a very strong start after promotion to AA & then faded as the last quarter of the season wrapped up)

YUCK:

1. Eric Hosmer (hoping for bounceback next year, I believe he was rushed to High-A)
2. Mitch Atkins (I expected this though  )

AAA
brandon wood .293 22 72 28-2b 4-3b .353obp, out of options next year it's time to flop or fly
sean rodriguez .294 30 98 19-2b 6-3b .397obp, dealt as the ptbnl in the kazmir deal...needs to cut down on the k's to succeed in the bigs
tommy mendoza 9-8 3.29 150ip 148h 42bb 96k, split between AA/AAA...nice way to bounce back from suspension. still just 22 yo

AA
hank conger .295 11 68 20-2b 3-3b .369obp, solid season across the board saw considerable time behind the plate for the 1st time since 05
mark trumbo .291 15 88 35-2b 3-3b .333obp, a tale of 2 seasons for trumbo. strong second half and playing in the OF salvaged his prospect status.
peter bourjos .281 6 51 16-2b 14-3b 32sb .354obp, wore down in the second half but very solid numbers across the board. the fastest player in the angels system and the best defensive OF'er not named torii hunter. highly regarded by mgmt. curious to see how he does in the AFL
trevor reckling 9-9 2.68 154ip 127h 78bb 122k, split between 2 levels...rushed a bit due to nick adenhart's untimely death. lost command in AA but still very highly regarded by the angels brass. i would like to see the halos slow him down a bit and send him back to AA in '10

LoA
ryan chaffee 8-8 4.33 116ip 84h 65bb 122k, imploded in the final month but k/9 and go/ao #s are a sign of good things to come.
tyler chatwood 8-7 4.02 116ip 99h 66bb 106k, struggled early with command but figured things out of late
will smith 10-5 3.76 115ip 109h 24bb 95 k, spent a chunk of the season on the dl but came back without skipping a beat. very good k:bb ratio thus far as a pro
alexia armarista .319 4 49 39-2b 10-3b 38sb .390obp, great year for alexia. his season reminds me of the numbers that aybar and callaspo put up at cedar rapids in 04.

Gerardo Parra - obviously earned a trip to the bigs in May, but never saw a significant spike in sales and still holding.

Brett Cecil - same callup situation, very small window for selling, still holding most.

Markus Brisker - eeesh, was way overmatched at 18 in A ball, demoted to short season and struggled some more. But over the last 3 weeks he hit about .280-.300 and was much more productive, so there's hope.

I dumped almost everything I had of him (which was a lot) pretty quickly and made some great money. I think the lower end stuff saw more increases than the bigger stuff.
