Kind of a spin off of the last thread. Most people say the old time nicknames where the best. What are your favorite nicknames in sports, past and present???

"The Splendid Splinter"

"Oil Can Boyd"

I know this one is recent, but I've groen fond of "Kung Fu Panda" Probably just because all the other nicknames over the last few years have been soo bad.

My favorite is "Old Aches and Pains" for Luke Appling. He was notorious for complaining about countless body ailments at every opportunity.

There will never be a better sports nickname than "The Great One." How does it get better than that?
