Why is Garret Jones not going to win ROY easily? His first game was July 1st. Since he has hit 21 homeruns. He leads all rookies in homeruns and slugging percentage. The scary part is he missed 3 MONTHS of the the season. At his pace since july he could have hit 30-40 homeruns. He has put up great numbers in a small amount of time. There is no reason for him not to be ROY.

voters tend to shy away from mid season call ups unless they help ignite a team and drive them to a division title. garret anderson had a great rookie year in 1995 (.321 16 69 in 106 games) but ultimately lost out to marty cordova (.277 24 84 in 137 games)

The 1995 ROY was a rip off in both leagues!!! Figure it out.

In my opinion, Larkin stole the MVP from Maddux too. I'm a homer.

Happ is in the playoffs, and Hanson was pitching for a team that was at least in contention for most of the year.

The Pirates are terrible, and have been terrible for almost 2 decades. They have enough trouble getting more than 3,000 fans to show up to a game, let alone getting national sportswriters to pay attention to Cutch or the Legend.

Casey McGehee is 1st in RBI's and is 2nd in home runs. If this were to be given to an offensive player this season it should be Casey.

Why would team record matter at all? The best rookie should win the award. If anything jones being on a bad team should really help him. His stats would be better if he had a lineup around him in that time.

none of that should matter for ROY. It is not a team award. It is an individual award
