Too bad, he was supposed to the heir apparent to Francisco Rodriguez.

He was never considered the heir apparent to Frankie outside of a few fans. With all of his issues, the Angels FO was extremely hesitant to put him in the closers role, which is why they went out and signed Fuentes to a 2 year deal (w/ a 3rd year vesting option).
Halonut said:arredondo isn't necessarily "done" with the angels. unless someone else takes a flier on him, he will more than likely be signed to a milb deal and sent to tempe to rehab. this is simply a move to free up a spot on the 40 man while not having to pay arredondo the mlb minimum to rehab.
