Former Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Extreme Cagefighting middleweight Justin Levens, 28 and his wife Sarah McLean Stevens, 25, were found dead on Wednesday from gunshot wounds in their Luguna Niguel, Calif. home, according to a report on TMZ.com.

An online report from CBS 2 in Los Angeles, citing Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Armomino, said that the couple was found in bed by the woman’s mother, who then called 911. Authorites termed the case an apparent murder-suicide.

Levens fought in numerous organizations over the past few years including the UFC, WEC and the IFL. The former Ruas Vale Tudo student was scheduled to compete on the first Affliction card in July, but due to delays at the event, the fight was scrapped at the last minute. He later returned positive results for the drug Oxymorphone as part of his pre-fight drug testing and was subsequently fined and suspended for six months, which would have run through Jan. 15, 2009

Don't start trashing the fighter when NO details have even come out yet.
Don't assume.

This is somewhat a ridiculous statement on a message board: "Don't Assume" :? My educated guess or assumption would be that this would have been the case (that roid's or some other type of mind altering drug had a part, no matter how large or how small), either way, the report listed it as a possible murder/suicide so I think the assumption that he was "roiding" would be a VERY minor knock on the guy given the possibility that he was the one whom murdered his wife & then killed himself (if he did(?), heck she could have done it)...

If you fight for a living you are without a doubt cut from a different cloth than most. It's no different than the extremely high divorce and child abuse rates for families with police officers, etc. When you are around violence all day, it becomes the norm.

Of course nothing makes this acceptable, it is just a fact.

If he were the killer, it wouldn't most likely be related to the Oxymorphone for which he was suspended.
Opana works well for patients in constant pain. It could also be used to deaden impending pain through euphoria.

Lets wait to see what they find but really don't expect it to be the Butler in the library with a lamp.
