BP is worthless. D'Arnaud above Marson... Drabek #3... Carrasco #1... peh.

Jeff N, since you're a known Phillies Phanatic, whom would you rank #1 (hell, list your #1-#10); if you don't mind putting it out there for all to see (& critique) as Sickels has... :D

How can you honestly tell me any one under him has better tools and projection, the only thing I can think of is moving Marson up b/c of ETA....Taylor is playing a level behind where he should be, Brown is the typical raw toolsy of and everyone knows Drabek's injury problems...I would like to hear why you think anyone besides Carlos is better then Collier..

My changes. I added Savery because I didn't want to drop anyone else. Hewitt has too high of a ceiling to be over looked. 80 raw power and Bo Jackson comps have to be looked at. Now he might be the ultimate bust but I like the situation the Phillies are in with him. They can afford time with him even though they will need a 3B in a couple of years. If he reaches 3/4 of his ceiling he is an occasional all star. For close to 2 million it is a good gamble.

Marson compares very well to Russel Martin. Even though Martin was a little better, you can still see how they compare.

Minors(career),
G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO BA
Marson- 407 1398 210 382 72 9 25 181 209 302 .273

Martin - 392 1311 233 368 70 6 33 194 221 189 .281

AA( a little tougher since Marson played in the Olympics)

Marson 94 322 55 101 18 0 5 46 68 70 .314

Martin 129 409 83 127 17 1 9 61 78 69 .311

D'arnaud could one day challenge for the catcher position, who knows but that is a good problem for the Phillies. They also have Valle.

Donald could turn out to be Dustin Pedroia with a lower OBP but a little more power. Even though Pedroia was younger there number compare well in the minors.

I'm not going to get into it over why M.Taylor is better than anyone because that boat sailed awhile back on the BMB (& fast forward close to a year later I had milb.com basically saying word for word what I had written about his comparison's). It's funny how each year no one mention's these player's (Collier) until they appear on a Chrome card... What has Collier done besides receive hype that you would think to rank him over Taylor, Marson, D'Arnaud, or even Jason Donald?

Exactly, Collier had a chrome auto come out that alot of members on here are buying...thus he must be one of the Phillies 2 or 3 best prospects. Obviously he isn't. Carrasco, Marson, Donald, Drabek, Taylor, Happ are certainly better prospects than Collier.

The Riverlands.
D'Arnaud at 4th is a very good spot for him. He it 6'2 195 which is not too big for the catcher position at all. I can't believe that people put this guy down so much! He is a monster and he is underrated.

He has obviously not done anything except received hype, he hasn't even had 150 AB. Therefore you have to go off high school/GCL scouting reports where he is compared to Garret Anderson. Also saying that Collier was not mentioned before his chrome card is a silly statement...Where would he have been mentioned...list don't get made until around this time so this is when you will start hearing about him, lists or not...Were you expecting people to just start all hail Collier threads for no reason in October?..

one of these days...

You will understand why milb stats are overrated and why the opinion of milb.com is not important.

"Were you expecting people to just start all hail Collier threads for no reason in October?"
Well you did say you have to go off of High School & GCL, so if he was so great in highschool & (as you say) obviously hasn't done anything except receive hype; then "Yes" there should have been all hail Collier threads in October unless the primary reason everyone is high on him now is because of his Chrome card's (because that seems to be the only significant difference between Collier now & collier in October).
